Yesterday, Facebook confirmed their long rumoured partnership with Skype and the integration of ‘Video Chat’.
Essentially, it works almost identically to Skype, but within the existing framework of Facebook.
It has come at an apt time for Facebook as with the launch of Google+, all be it behind closed doors, a lot of social media users are reporting that they are swaying towards Google’s new network.
For video calls Google+ offers the ‘hangout’ feature, which seems faster than the Facebook offering, less clumsy looking and allows for 10 people at a time to be involved in discussion together. After trying them both out earlier, Facebook seems pale in comparison.
Today, Google threw another curve ball with the announcement of the Google+ brand offering. Promising alot, Google engineer Christian Oestlien, explains within the following YouTube video, how the brand profiles will offer deep analytics and integration with Google AdWords.
Could Google+ be a ‘Facebook killer’? The early reports are promising, the chat function seems to be better and the offering for brands integrates social media with Google’s sharp analytics and Adwords offerings.
We are really curious to see what everyone thinks. Please let us know via the comments section.
